One of the best from Chile in recent years. Note that this is not the band Australis AUSTRALIA - Instrumental prog rock like a cross between Ozric Tentacles and Kinston Wall. Recommended! AUTOMATA - Intense instrumental trio made up of guitar, bass and drums. Brings to mind some of the heavier aspects of King Crimson AZERO - Heavy prog with a slight metal edge BANDHADA - Wonderful instrumental progressive with a fusion edge. Kenso meets Gotic! BARROQUCION - Tolkien project of medieval symphonic CONGREGACION - Ethnic folk led by singer/songwriter Antonio Smith CONGRESO - Ethnic folk group CORDERO, CLAUDIO - Fantastic guitar dominated instrumental fusion by Matraz guitarist CRISALIDA - Heavy symph/prog with great female vocals in Matraz vein DALTONIA - Very interesting progressive symphonic rock opera DESOOORDEN, LA - Conceptual progressive projects. Mix of Los Jaivas, Pink Floyd and Van Der Graaf Generator. Excellent! END OF SILENCE - Melodic symphonic rock trio ENTRANCE - Very energetic symphonic rock ERGO SUM - Mixture of heavy and light flute-led prog rock that brings to mind Tull & Crimson EVOLUCION - Instrumental blend of symph/prog, fusion and jazz EXSIMIO - Heavy guitar prog that reminds me a bit of Crimson in their “Red” days FIGUEROA, NICOLAS - Blend of prog, jazz and eastern mysticism FLOTANTE - Instrumental progressive fusion. For fans of Djam Karet and Red period King Crimson FRACTAL - Ethnic melodic fusion rock with tribal rhythms. Good! FULANO - Stunning mixture of Soft Machine, Zappa & Magma influences LOS JAIVAS - Most known Chilean prog group MAR DE ROBLES - Prog rock with lots of flute with influences ranging from King Crimson to Jethro Tull MATRAZ - Heavy symphonic with female vocals. Excellent! MEDIA BANDA - Ex-Fulano and one of the very best progressive bands to ever come out of Chile.
